Thanksgiving gives us all an opportunity to pause and reflect on what means the most to us.

One United Lancaster asked staff members at United Way of Lancaster County what makes them feel grateful this holiday season. Some shared their thoughts in writing, others on camera.

Here’s what they said:

Wendy Jarrett (vice president, human resources & administration)

I am always thankful to be surrounded by my family and friends, but this year, I am MOST thankful that we can gather, hug our friends and family, eat, drink and be merry together again.

Damaris Colon (resource navigator, 211 East)

I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for my family and supportive friends for offering inspirational and unconditional love and guidance. I am a firm believe in God and have been blessed with so many beautiful things.

Barb Zercher (director of stewardship)

I’m thankful for friends and family, for opportunities to see new places and learn new things, for chocolate and chai latte, and for a fantastic group of co-workers who are making amazing things happen for our community!

Aiza Ashraf (director of equity)

I am thankful for my family, especially my husband and our daughter, Maya, and my friends. I am also thankful for my work colleagues, and new friendships!

Kyle Gamble (videographer and digital editor)

I’m thankful for my wife and our two daughters, Charlotte and Zoe. I’m thankful to live in the great town of Lititz, where I can walk to the parks with my girls. I’m also thankful for a good Saturday tailgate party for college football … Go Buckeyes!
