Lea Zikmund is the new executive director of Hourglass, the foundation has announced.
Zikmund embarked on her new role on Wednesday, Nov. 13. She will host her first Hourglass First Friday forum on Friday, Dec. 6, and has also been tasked with leading the organization through a strategic planning process.
Zikmund comes to Hourglass after five years with the nonprofit StoryCorps, most recently as its mobile tour director. She is a graduate of Warwick High School and Dickinson College and lives in Lancaster.
She replaces Diana Martin, who left the foundation to become director of impact at the High Foundation and executive director of Partners for Environmental Stewardship, an affiliated nonprofit created last year to help develop an environmental center at Sunnyside Peninsula.
“Hourglass looks forward to Lea leading our efforts to make Lancaster a better place to live and work while connecting with other like-minded organizations,” Monty Miller, Hourglass’ president and chair of the executive director search committee.
Hourglass conducts research, promotes collaboration among community leaders and educates the public on issues affecting the quality of life in Lancaster County.
