Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health has announced ten blood drives around Lancaster County over the month of January.
January is National Blood Donor Month. Throughout the months of January and February, LG Health is holding their annual Bleed Blue Challenge, a friendly competition between local police departments in an effort to increase blood donations.
Blood supplies are persistently low and LG Health encourages everyone who can to donate blood and platelets.
Blood drive donors are encouraged to register beforehand, either online or by phone at (717) 544-0170. They may also schedule an appointment to donate at LG Health’s Blood Donor Center.
Blood collected in Lancaster County stays here and is used by local health care providers.
