• Jamie Arroyo wins Dem primary in Lancaster Mayoral race: Jaime Arroyo has won the Democratic primary for Lancaster mayor. In his post election speech he announced the victory. “The reason why I’m becoming mayor is because I’m thinking about the future and the future of Lancaster City for Miles,” he said. Miles is his son. Arroyo faced off against Janet Diaz in Tuesday’s primary election. Currently, Arroyo serves as the vice president of Lancaster City Council and chief executive officer at ASSETS, a local nonprofit. (WGAL)

• Lancaster City Council primary election results: Three Democratic committee endorsed candidates have been elected to Lancaster City Council: incumbent Ahmed Ahmed, and two newcomers, Marshall Miller and Nancy Millán. Newcomer Amos Stoltzfus, director of Tenfold’s SoWe community group, secured the fourth seat. Stoltzfus was passed over for endorsement by by city Democrats, but was endorsed by progressive group Lancaster Stands Up. Stoltzfus credited his work with SoWe for his victory. Stoltzfus advocates for creating legal camping spaces for people who are experiencing homelessness and supported cutting back on zoning restrictions to bring in creative housing solutions like tiny homes or accessory dwelling units. • Primary election results for central Pa.: Tuesday, over 770,000 Pennsylvanians cast their ballots for state-wide judicial and local county and municipal primary races. Secretary of State Al Schmidt, whose office supports counties running elections across the state, said the process of casting ballots in every county and more than 9,000 precincts went smoothly. However, the results of the primaries are unofficial until all ballots, including military, overseas and provisional ballots are counted, then results are audited. This process takes three weeks and may take longer if there are challenges or lawsuits, often prompted by extremely tight races. (Source: LNP)

• Wanda Williams expected to win Harrisburg Mayor primary: Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams is leading the Democratic primary with a small lead over Harrisburg City Treasurer Dan Miller late Tuesday night. During her time as mayor of Harrisburg, Williams has overseen a city impacted by gun violence, chaos at city events, and the 2023 fire that destroyed the Broad Street Market’s brick building. In 2023, Williams declared that the city was debt-free and, in her October 2024 State of the City, announced plans to remove Harrisburg from Act 47, a designation for cities dealing with financial distress. She also promoted new, affordable housing and ongoing development in Allison Hill and Hall Manor. (Source: ABC 27)
