The Kingdom Coaster at Dutch Wonderland.

• Dutch Wonderland acquired by new parent company: Dutch Wonderland, a major tourist attraction in Lancaster County, has been acquired along with its parent company’s other U.S. properties by Herschend Family Entertainment. The park’s former owners, Palace Entertainment, announced the deal jointly with Herschend Tuesday. Herschend claims it is the country’s largest family-owned themed attractions company and owns four amusement parks along with several water parks and aquariums. No immediate changes to Dutch Wonderland’s operations are planned. (Source: LNP) 

• Three Mile Island owner to hold public meeting on environmental impact of restarting nuclear plant: Constellation, the current owners of the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, will hold a public meeting by virtual conferencing to discuss the environmental impact of restarting the plant’s Unit 1 reactor. Unit 1 shut down in 2019 due to not being able to compete with natural gas and renewables. The plant is planned to restart due to funding from Microsoft, who hopes to use Three Mile Island to power its datacenters. Performing an environmental impact assessment is one of the required steps for Constellation to be able to restart the plant. (Source: LNP) 

• Dauphin County officials demanding answers on ICE arrests: Dauphin County officials joined Harrisburg’s Bhutanese Nepali community at the State Capitol Tuesday to demand an answer to a series of ICE arrests targeting the Bhutanese community. The five men arrested had green cards, and all lacked any felony charges. Additionally, as the immigrants were forced out of their home country, deportation would be impossible. Congressman Scott Perry has contacted ICE asking for details on the arrests. (Source: FOX 43) 

• Pennsylvania Republicans aim for Constitutional amendment barring undocumented immigrants from getting driver’s licenses: Pennsylvania Republicans in the State House are proposing an amendment to the Pa. State Constitution which would bar undocumented immigrants from being given driver’s licenses. However, undocumented immigrants already cannot obtain driver’s licenses. The Republicans cite road safety incidents involving undocumented immigrants as the reason for the law. Democrats and immigration advocates say the law would be counterproductive, as obtaining a driver’s license helps ensure road safety. (Source: FOX 43)
