Dr. Michael Ripchinski, chief clinical officer of Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, has been appointed to serve on the state Board of Medicine.
The board regulates medical practice in Pennsylvania through licensing of doctors and other professionals. Members serve four-year terms.
The state Senate last month unanimously confirmed Ripchinski's nomination by Gov. Tom Wolf. He participated in his first board meeting on March 15.
"Dr. Ripchinski brings an array of practical knowledge to the board and has done an outstanding job of communicating to the public throughout the pandemic, including his efforts to promote the availability, safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine," acting Health Secretary Keara Klinepeter said in a statement.
