Two local nonprofits are partnering to launch a series of weekend Covid-19 vaccine clinics focused on minority and at-risk communities.

The joint venture between Union Community Care and Patients R Waiting begins next week at The Mix at Arbor Place, 520 North St. in Lancaster.

Vaccination will be offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23. Patients can register in advance at healthequitylancaster.org. Walk-ins are welcome.

The schedule for subsequent clinics is being finalized and will be announced in coming days, Union Community Care spokeswoman Nicole Specht said.

Patients R Waiting, founded by Dr. Cherise Hamblin, works to eliminate health disparities by increasing diversity in the medical profession.

Union Community Care is a federally qualified health center, focused on underserved populations in Lancaster and Lebanon counties.
