The Lancaster County police union is organizing a donation drive to help first responders and victims in Florida working to recover from Hurricane Ian.
Fraternal Order of Police Red Rose Lodge 16 has set up a drive-through collection site at the former Sears Auto Center at Park City Center. Donations will be accepted there from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers will be on site to assist with donations.
Food and cleaning items are top priorities. Requested items include:
- Bottled water
- Canned or non-perishable foods
- Coffee
- Sugar
- Non-dairy/powdered creamer
- Juice
- Gatorade/Powerade
- Personal hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Pet food
- Kitty litter
- Batteries
- Blankets
- Clothing
- Paper plates and cups
- Trash bags
- Large tarps
- Plastic storage bins
- Bug spray
- Sunscreen
- Diapers and baby wipes
The union is arranging the donation drive in coordination with Jag Trucks and other local businesses and organizations.
