The Lancaster Recreation Commission is seeking nonprofits and other vendors to host booths at this summer's Open Streets Lancaster event.

Held in conjunction with Lancaster city and the Lancaster Bikes program, Open Streets is a free family-friendly event that temporarily transforms Water Street into a pedestrian mall, with music, food, shopping and activities promoting physical wellbeing, civic pride and personal and community connections.

This year's Open Streets will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19. More than 8,000 people attended Open Streets in 2019; the in-person event was suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Registration is now open for venders to reserve their spot on the street. For more details and to register, click here.

In past years, at least one-third of vendor participants have been nonprofits, said Jack Bingeman, the Lancaster Rec's Director of Special Programs Jack Bingeman.

To guarantee a spot, the Rec encourages registering as soon as possible. All registrations should be complete by the third week of April, or eight weeks before the event date. A $100 donation from each vendor is requested to help cover the event costs.

If you have questions, email Bingeman at jbingeman@lancasterrec.org.
