United Way of Lancaster County will present a discussion of youth mental health as its latest “Conversation About OUR Community.”
“Promoting Student Mental Health and Wellbeing” will take place via Zoom from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, March 19. Registration is free; to sign up, click here.
Youth mental health trends have worsened both locally and nationally in recent years, driven by the pandemic and other factors.
Locally, the Touchstone Foundation recently launched a mentorship training initiative in response to the findings of its youth mental health needs assessment.
The Zoom conversation will open with a presentation from Anna Kennedy, the Touchstone Foundation’s executive director.
A Q&A will follow, featuring Kennedy and three additional panelists:
- K Foley: Executive director, Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition
- Ryan Flannery: School psychologist, School District of Lancaster
- Kim McDevitt: Executive director, Mental Health America of Lancaster County
Joel Janisewski, director of Volunteerism and Community Listening for United Way of Lancaster County, will moderate. A recording of the livestream will be available to registrants afterward.
