Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health has announced 11 blood drives around Lancaster County over the month of February.
Blood supplies are persistently low and LG Health encourages everyone who can to donate blood and platelets.
Bleed Blue Challenge
Through February, LG Health is participating in the Bleed Blue Challenge, a competition among local police departments that began last month. Blood donors may choose to donate on behalf of the participating department of their choice.
The following departments are taking part:

- Lancaster City
- Manheim Township
- Manor Township
- Millersville University
- Mount Joy
- Northwest Regional
- Pequea Township
- Quarryville
- Strasburg
Blood drive donors are encouraged to register beforehand, either online or by phone at (717) 544-0170. They may also schedule an appointment to donate at LG Health’s Blood Donor Center.
Blood collected in Lancaster County stays here and is used by local health care providers.
