Recidivism is a serious problem at all levels of the criminal justice system. In Pennsylvania, more than six out of 10 state prison inmates are rearrested within three years.

Individuals leaving prison face numerous obstacles to obtaining jobs, housing, healthcare and social services, which many analysts contend contributes to high rates of reoffending. The Lancaster County Reentry Coalition works to overcome those barriers and promote successful reintegration.
