The Friends of the Lancaster Public Library’s 68th annual “BIG Book Sale” takes place this week.

Doors open at 7 a.m. Monday at the former Bon Ton building at 600 Park City Center. Hours for the three-day sale are as follows:

  • Monday, May 22: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 23: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 24 (Half-price day): 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

More than a quarter-million items are for sale, with prices starting at 50 cents for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks.

Proceeds benefit Lancaster Public Library, which is in the process of moving to its new quarters at Ewell Plaza. The library is closed during the move; it expects to reopen shortly after Memorial Day, Executive Director Lissa Holland said.
