Thanksgiving gives us all an opportunity to pause and reflect on what means the most to us, what enriches our lives, what touches our hearts.

One United Lancaster asked staff members at United Way of Lancaster County what makes them feel grateful this holiday season. Here's what they said:

• "I am super thankful to be able to spend this Thanksgiving in the physical presence of my family and friends. I am also gratefulto be graduating from Millersville on Dec. 12, my birthday! Woo Hoo!" - Melissa Myers, community initiatives intern

• "I am thankful for becoming a new homeowner, celebrating one year at United Way of Lancaster County, my amazing dog and the wonderful people in my life!" - Maddie Seiler, marketing & communications director

• "I am thankful for an apartment of my very own, for family and loved ones who care for me, for Covid vaccines and for getting to go to concerts and plays again! - Olivia Smucker, digital content coordinator

• "I am forever thankful for the outpouring of condolences that I received upon my mother's passing." - Cindi Moses, executive vice president

• "I'm thankful for all the VITA volunteers -- for their willingness and commitment to serve our friends and family in Lancaster County. They invest their time in learning tax law and completing the IRS certification each year and then devote numerous hours to provide free, high quality tax preparation throughout Lancaster County." - Michelle Ingham, VITA director

• "I'm thankful for my beautiful wife and two daughters, Charlotte and Zoe. They provide so much joy throughout the year and we are all looking forward to extra time together over the holiday." - Kyle Gamble, communications & marketing associate
