Mayor's Neighborhood Week, an annual Lancaster event since 2018, has been expanded and is now Mayor's Neighborhood Month, City Hall announced this week.

"Our neighborhoods and the residents who call them home are the foundation of our city," said Mayor Danene Sorace, who launched the neighborhood celebration in her first term.

"It is a joy to dedicate a month in celebration of these essential, life-giving spaces," the mayor said. "Let us connect face-to-face, meet a new neighbor, and celebrate the vibrant, beautiful communities that fill our blocks, our parks, and our homes. Lancaster, I’m so glad to be your neighbor."

This year's festivities will include three block parties, a community cookout, the Celebrate Lancaster street fair and fireworks, First Friday and Music Friday. Click here for a full schedule.

The Department of Neighborhood Engagement, which is leading Mayor's Neighborhood Month, is conducting a "neighborhood pride survey" in conjunction with it. To participate, click here.
