• CRIZ Authority wants to acquire the former Kunzler plant in Lancaster city: CRIZ (The Lancaster City Revitalization and Improvement Zone Authority) wants to purchase the shutdown Kunzler & Co. hot dog production plant in Lancaster city in an effort to boost development of housing and small businesses. The organization voted last week to expand the zone to include the entire Kunzler property at 652-655 Manor St., and to begin negotiations to buy it from its current owner. The $2.9 million 3-acre site, includes buildings on both sides of Manor Street. The potential purchase from the authority would be the first time it has acquired property itself for redevelopment purposes. Waiting for state approval, CRIZ designation would make the property eligible for money generated from taxes paid by businesses in the zone. (Source: LNP)
