• Elizabethtown parents sue school district over open meetings law: Three parents in the Elizabethtown Area School District sued the district on Tuesday. The parents alleged that the district consulted with the controversial Independence Law Center behind closed doors, in violation of the state’s open meetings law. In January, the district passed two policies written by the organization which restricted athlete participation in sports based on biological sex and makes parents approve pronoun usage by students. The school board described the meeting with ILC as “legal advice” but the lawsuit alleges that it was instead discussing policy with the organization.
