February, the organizations board voted to remove its former president Tiffany Shirley, after an internal audit and investigation, citing financial violations of the organization’s bylaws and code of conduct. • Penn Medicine cuts 300 positions: Penn Medicine, parent health system of Lancaster General Health, has eliminated about 300 out of its 49,000-employee workforce on Tuesday. Over 100 of the 300 eliminated positions are already vacant or held by employees who had already announced plans to retire. Question about position being eliminated at LG Health and reasoning for the eliminations have received no answer. • Affordable Care Act coverage protected by P.A house bill passing: The Trump administration is making plans to replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Pennsylvania House Democrats passed legislation Tuesday to make the health insurance coverage required by the Affordable Care Act mandatory under state law if the federal version is repealed. The Four bills passed would require health insurance companies to allow young adults to remain on their parents’ insurance until age 26, pay for preventative care and ban lifetime coverage limits and exclusions for pre-existing conditions.
