• Hiring freeze causes Raystown Lake campground to close: Thursday, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Raystown Lake, Huntingdon County will close until further notice due to staffing shortage. • New superintendent vote by Warwick School board: Tuesday, Warwick School Board will vote on whether to appoint Jason Reifsnyder as its next superintendent at a starting salary of $194,000. While his contract is set to begin July 1, The board will also vote to approve Reifsnyder as superintendent designate for a period of up to 15 days between Wednesday and June 30 at a per diem rate of $746.15 per day, according to district spokesperson Carolyn Besjak. • Harmony Tower in Harrisburg provides updates on hot water problems: Harmony Tower, an apartment building on Second Street in downtown Harrisburg, has lacked hot water for months. On Monday, the tenant’s association provided an update on the efforts to restore the hot water service. Plumbers attempted to make repairs last Wednesday, but the restored hot water only lasted for a day. Ten apartments have lukewarm water, the rest have only cold water. The next step in repairs is replacing valves in each individual apartment, however the type of valve needed is old and discontinued. Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams has threatened to cite Harmony Tower’s owner, but he is not local and is currently incarcerated. (Source: ABC 27)
• Lancaster History partners with Fulton Theatre for scavenger hunt: To promote the Fulton Theatre’s performance of the “Anastasia” musical, a local history website is hosting a scavenger hunt relating to the play. The game will take place over four weeks, and charges participants with locating the “missing diamond” which is said to be tied to the play’s titular character. To locate the diamond, participants must explore Lancaster’s history through solving puzzles and discovering clues.
