Rhoads Energy prevailed over 33 other teams Tuesday to win first prize at United Way of Lancaster County's 2024 trike race.
The lighthearted competition raised about $20,000, communications director Maddie Seiler said. Held at the Clipper Magazine Stadium parking lot, it was followed by United Way Night, featuring the Lancaster Stormers versus the York Revolution. Rhoads Energy Trike Race team representative Clark Wagstaff threw out the first pitch.
The trike race features five-member teams who compete against each other in brackets. The 34 participating teams constituted an event record.
Adjacent to the race "track" was a tailgating area with yard games and the Penny's Ice Cream truck.
Event sponsors included Northwest Bank, Union Community Care, UPMC and WGAL.
