More than 800 volunteers will pitch in to help Lancaster County nonprofits during the 2024 Week of Caring, roughly double the number in 2023, United Way of Lancaster County announced.
The annual Week of Caring brings together volunteers and community organizations to collaborate on projects with local impact. Originally the Day of Caring, it was expanded to a full week last year.
This year’s Week of Caring runs from Sunday, Sept. 8, through the following Saturday, Sept. 14.
It kicks off with the One World Festival, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. In the ensuing days, community volunteers will work on 21 nonprofit projects. Millersville University students will collaborate on 19 more.

“We are thrilled to expand our Annual Week of Caring, creating even more opportunities to connect with our community, inspire our nonprofit partners, and empower our dedicated volunteers to make a difference,” United Way of Lancaster County Volunteer Center Manager Jarissa Johns said.
