• Update on Lancaster County Prison: The Lancaster County Correctional Facility website, states construction will not begin until next year. The facility is expected to open in 2029. (Source: ABC 27)

• UPMC’s statement after fatal shooting at York County hospital: UPMC Central Pa. has released a statement regarding Saturday’s fatal shooting at UPMC Memorial in York County. The statement explained that the UPMC Memorial staff members who were injured are medically stable and progressing in their recovery, and the facility is closed for visitors at this time and is working towards making visitation possible. This statement came a day after the Feb. 22 shooting, which took the life of Officer Andrew Duarte, as well as the shooter, Diogenes Archangel Ortiz, who officials say entered the hospital with a handgun and zip ties. • Lancaster County Residents gathered at Penn Square to support Church World Service (CWS) employees: 200 Lancaster residents came together at Penn Square on Sunday to support over 60 Church World Service employees who were furloughed as a result of the the Trump administration’s cut of funding to nonprofits that help refugees and immigrants. Matt Johnson, who was furloughed from his position as the strategic community partnerships officer at CWS, detailed the effects of the administrations decision such as the suspension of all refugee resettlement to the United States, which included 15 refugee flights to Lancaster County that were scheduled for February. Johnson also asked those in attendance to donate to a GoFundMe to help CWS workers pay rent, utilities, child care and grocery costs while furloughed; $41,000 has been raised. (Source: LNP)

• Sewage flooding causing Lancaster City Public Library to close temporality: Flooding on the first floor of the the Lancaster City Public Library has caused the building to close. Leigh Kaliss, the director of communications for the Lancaster Public Library, said a backup in a sewage pipe caused considerable flooding but no damage to the library’s print collection. The building will be closed to the public until at least Saturday. Limited library services are expected to stop by Monday, March 3. (Source: LNP)
