• Lancaster Library opens pop-up: The Lancaster Public Library has set up a pop-location, in front of the library building in Ewell Plaza. The library has been closed due to flooding that damaged part of the library. The pop-up is open Friday 9 a.m to 5 p.m. (Source: ABC 27)

• Manheim Township board approves law firms: Thursday the Manheim Township school board unanimously to approve  to hire two law firms to strengthen the district’s policies and procedures after learning last month of an alleged sexual assault that took place during a boys lacrosse trip last spring. Levin Legal Group will advise on safety and best practices for athletics programs, while Wisler Pearlstine, LLP will focus on administrative policies and student safety reporting.  The District failed to notify the state authorities despite being mandatory reporters. • High proposes zoning changes for mixed-use development: High Real Estate Group wants to build over 2,000 housing units of various types on the 476-acre Manor Township property it bought from Armstrong World Industries for $13 million last year. This would require zoning changes and housing demand over the next two decades. High needs to get approval from the townships zoning supervisors, which was discussed at the recent planning commission meeting. (Source: LNP)

Pennsylvania Board of Education denies accreditation to Christian Schools’ Association: Thursday, The Pennsylvania Board of Education unanimously rejected an application from a Christian organization seeking to become an official accreditation agency for private schools in the commonwealth. Lawmakers and officials said the groups policy on “Biblical sexuality” was discriminatory. The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which accredits 2,200 private schools nationwide, including 116 in Pennsylvania, requested state approval under Pennsylvania’s Private Academic Schools Act to enhance its credibility. Stephen Deck, ACSI’s senior director, explained that state approval would highlight the high standards of ACSI accreditation. However, a special committee opposed the application.
