Lancaster seeks nominations for Hispanic Community Achievement Awards

Lancaster city is seeking nominations for its Hispanic Community Achievement Awards.

“The Hispanic community has made remarkable contributions to Lancaster City. We invite the community to nominate deserving candidates whose contributions have enriched our city,” said Mayor Danene Sorace.

Nominations will be accepted through noon Friday, Sept. 15. For nomination forms in English and Spanish, click here.

Award recipients will be recognized at the city’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, planned for Saturday, Sept. 30.

The city launched the awards last year as the Hispanic Lifetime Achievement Awards, honoring Enelly Betancourt, Nicolas “Jesse el Moreno” Collado and Luis Pagan.

Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual national celebration that runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
