YWCA Lancaster has honored five Lancaster County women with 2022 Women of Achievement Awards.

Receiving the awards during a gala Thursday at the Doubletree Lancaster were:

  • Salina Almanzar-Oree: Program coordinator, Center for Creative Exploration, Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.
  • Barbara Wilson: Executive director, Lancaster City Housing Authority.
  • Dr. Sharee Livingston: Chair of the OB/GYN department, UPMC Lititz; founding board member, Patients R Waiting.
  • Kendra Wolfe: Founder and executive guide, Unique Lancaster Experiences.
  • Sophie Yost (Cheryl Gahring Young Person of Achievement Award): founder of the Manheim Township Coalition for Social Justice and organizer of the Manheim Township School District Diversity Equity & Inclusion Board. Yost is a 2022 Manheim Township High School graduate and a freshman at Duke University.

The annual event “recognizes and honors women and gender expansive people who have demonstrated qualities of leadership and excellence in their professional and personal endeavors while supporting YWCA Lancaster’s mission,” the organization said.

Proceeds support YWCA Lancaster’s Kepler Hall residence program.
