The 211 Day Summit is today. Here’s how to livestream key segments

United Way of Lancaster County’s 211 Day Summit is today, and portions of it are being livestreamed, including the keynote discussion featuring U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., and United Way President & CEO Kevin Ressler.

Casey is appearing at noon via Zoom to speak with Ressler about legislation to support 211 and make it into a truly robust nationwide referral system for social services.

His conversation with Ressler is scheduled to begin at noon. It will be available on United Way of Lancaster County’s Facebook page and via Zoom. To watch on Zoom, pre-register here.

United Way of Lancaster County will also livestream the summit’s opening remarks and panel discussion on Facebook. Those segments will not be available on Zoom.

The 211 Day Summit celebrates the 211 system and Lancaster County’s network of dedicated social service organizations. More than 200 people have signed up to attend in person at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, 850 Greenfield Road, Lancaster.

United Way of Lancaster County operates PA 211 East, which serves Lancaster County and six other counties in central and southeast Pennsylvania. In Lancaster County alone, it fielded more than 37,000 inquiries in 2022, according to PA 211 Counts.

The 211-focused portion of the day runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and includes three workshop sessions. Participants can select from a baker’s dozen of workshops on human services issues, nonprofit capacity building and more.

After that, from 3 to 5 p.m., United Way of Lancaster County is hosting a reception and information session to mark the launch of its 2023 Level Up & Launch grant cycle.

It will include a panel discussion and a performance by music students from SWAN, a 2022 Level Up & Launch grant recipient.
