The Lancaster County Recovery Alliance will host its 11th annual Recovery Day in Buchanan Park this weekend.
Recovery Day Lancaster 2024 will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the park at 901 Buchanan Ave., Lancaster.
The event brings together the local community and nonprofits to celebrate recovery from addiction and encourage healing. It is held as part of National Recovery Month every September.
The schedule is as follows:
- 10:30 a.m.: Opening Ceremony and Unity Circle
- 11 a.m.: Run for Recovery 5K
- 11:30 a.m.: Barbecue meal and concert by bands Quiet Tiger and The Mystic Alpacas
There will also be speakers, informational booths and tables, health demonstrations and children’s activities.
Event admission is free; the 5K is, too, though registration is requested. Tickets for the barbecue are $5. Just 400 are available; to purchase, click here. There will also be local food trucks on hand.
