MidPenn Legal Services will host a free breakfast seminar next month on diversity, equity and inclusion “from a civil legal aid perspective.”

Organized by the nonprofit’s Justice & Equity Center, the “IDEAL” forum (denoting “Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility in Legal Aid”), will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the Lancaster County Convention Center.

A panel discussion will begin at 8 a.m. and will feature:

  • Deborah D. Vereen: principal, The Vereen Group (keynote speaker)
  • Fran Rodriguez: senior program officer, Lancaster County Community Foundation
  • Arlene Marshall-Hockensmith: director of Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging, Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network

The moderator is Rhodia D. Thomas, executive director of MidPenn Legal Services.

The event “will focus on moving the DEI dialogue forward,” MidPenn said, “by exploring the various dimensions of diversity and the ways in which we can work towards systemic change.”
