Girls on the Run of Lancaster & Lebanon will celebrate the achievements of more than 1,100 GOTR participants at its Spring 5K Celebration.
The noncompetitive 5K is scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Franklin & Marshall College. It is one of the largest in the area and is expected to draw close to 5,000 people.
Girls on the Run teaches girls in grades 3 through 8 self-confidence and life skills that bolster physical and emotional health. In 2022, it was part of the first cohort of United Way of Lancaster County Level Up & Launch grant recipients.
The organization concludes each spring and fall program with a 5K celebration, sponsored by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster.
The 5K is open to the public and everyone is invited to participate. Online registration closes at the end of the day on Wednesday, May 17. Walk-up registration will be available on the morning of the race.
Standard registration for community participants is $10 for ages 5 to 8 and $25 for ages 9 and up. Visit www.gotrlancaster.org/5k for more information and to register.
