Residents of the Elizabethtown Area School District are being invited to weigh in on whether to close one or more of its elementary schools.

The Mill Road Elementary School, the Rheems Elementary School, or both could end up closing. The school board plans to discuss the matter at a workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

In the meantime, residents can offer their views on the district's Thought Exchange portal, or at a community forum running from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29. (A previous forum was held online on June 29.)

The deadline for responding via the Thought Exchange portal is 4 p.m. Sept. 15. All responses are anonymous.

The district has posted extensive background information here on the factors under consideration in the closure debate.
